- During the winter season, does it rain a lot in Granada?
Granada is a destination where most of the year consists of sunny weather. The green season in Nicaragua is from May to October. In Granada, the climate usually allows for any and all planned activities. Though it must be said that a nice rainy afternoon in this romantic city is also a spectacle.
- What activities or destinations can I do during my stay in Granada?
We recommend a minimum of 3 nights to fully cover the city of Granada. Many focus on taking a route of the churches, fortresses, and museums. Touring the streets and parks will allow you to enjoy the beautiful and unique architecture that Granada has to offer.
In addition, there are a world of options just outside the city. Las Isletas de Granada, located in Lake Nicaragua, is a “must do” activity. There, guests can try anything from standup paddleboarding, kayaking, bird watching, hiking trails, and a number of other activities. You can also visit the Mombacho Volcano Reserve for a canopy tour or to hike the impressive reserve.
Many guests also like to spend the day at Zapatera Island and visit the pre-Columbian sanctuary.
In addition, Granada is surrounded by spectacular places such as Apoyo Lagoon, Masaya Volcano, Masaya’s artisan market, Catarina, San Juan de Oriente’s pre-Columbian crafts and the so-called “white” villages.
Day Trip to San Juan Del Sur
San Juan del Sur is merely an hour and a half away from Granada. There, you can enjoy a day at a beautiful beach town on the Pacific Coast, enjoy a tasty lunch of fresh seafood, hike up a mountain to witness a fiery sunset with a beautiful view, and return to Granada to enjoy a night out on the town on Calle La Calzada.- Do we need a car in the city of Granada?
A car is not necessary within the city of Granada. Most people travel by foot or in traditional horse-drawn carriages. However, renting a car or hiring a tour service is best if you are planning to visit the attractions surrounding Granada.
- How can I get from the International Airport in Managua to Granada?
